Currently, we received a request to create a new item because the one in use has become aged. Previously, a young furniture craftsman from another company made a similar lid, but since they only applied the usual "yatoizane" technique, there were no issues when it was freshly made. However, as expected, within a month it warped and cracked, leading to complaints. To prevent such issues, we implemented more complex processing methods like "suitukizan" and "arizanehagi" to create a durable hinoki lid that can be used for a long time without warping or cracking.
